| Route Notes | BC just above Mingbo C1 on SW Ridge C3 at Dome - below Ama Dablam. C1 pitched on Oct 17 and deposited load. The team did not set up other high camps. They used tents fixed by other expeditions. Same was the case for ropes. They had to spend night in a small tent (emergency) that was left below the tower without sleeping bags. They were suppose to reach to C2 (sleeping bags were there), but got late (after dark) to climb up as they had to wait till other climbers come down. Instead of getting back to C1, they spent night there (Landry says it was bivouac). Expeditions cooperated very well with each other. Trashes were collected. Everybody showed concern about it. Their day of summit: only two of them were on the mountain. Landry says that the expedition was a great trip for him. Blessed by a lama with a thread (he was wearing that around his neck) at a ceremony organized by Ang Rita Sherpa at one of the shrines before they started the expedition. Excellent weather. BC was colorful. |
| Accidents | Richards had to leave on Oct 19 due to serious illness (typhoid diagnosed in Khunde) |
