| Route Notes | Slept at C3 on 6 Oct. Left camp at 6 am and at 2:40 pm within 10 minutes all reached the top, stayed at the top for 45 minutes. Returned to C3 at 9 pm. 8 Oct reached BC. Was windy on 7th morning got better later but was cloudy when they reached the top. 2 Japanese went up to 6600m on 6 Oct and returned to BC. Was too late. They may have reached summit later. This was Karataev's first summit since he lost all fingers and toes from frostbite on Lhotse in 1990. Plans to go to Annapurna I next spring for paraglide descent. |
