Route Notes Cook stayed at BC after Verzaroli left for trek and other 2 members arrived 6th Oct and climbed to C3 (about 6300m) 19th Oct, then down (Lieber not well and big serac above looked dangerous) and left BC 21st and took away BC and all gear. When Verzaroli arrived 22nd nothing and no one left there from his expedition, but Germans and Venezuelans were there. 23rd Verzaroli to 5600m with his small tent, etc. (11-15 kg). 24th to C2 6100m with all gear. 25th from C2 to summit to C2 in 5-1/2 hours to top and 2-1/2 hours back to C2 in very strong wind. No other climbers were on mountain on 26 Oct but used other's fixed ropes. "I enjoyed being alone" but sometimes not easy to solo especially for more than 3-4 days.
