| Route Notes | BC (A) below Mingbo Glacier BC (B) closer to mountain on ridge C3 above mushroom ridge. Hardest part between C2 to C3. Snowfall in early April changed the mountain from rock route to ice and snow. Moved entire BC up on 4 April after realized had put base much too far away from the site for C1. Saw Greeks move supplies by yak all the way to 18,000 ft. Between C2 and C3 are the difficult steps. Fixed rope between C1 and C2 for load carrying and because of weather. Between C2 and C3 was enormous amount of rope from earlier expeditions. Descent took very long (got back to C3 at 2:00 am on 18th because Greeks whom they summited with, were very slow). Had left C3 at 5:30 am on 17th. |
