Route Notes Approach: Lukla, Pangboche, Lobuche East (27/10) BC 28/10 4700m C1 30/10 5900m C2 31/10 6100m Smt 01/11 by Schoeffel and Pasang Tendi at 6:30 am Smt 02/11 by Diez, Barth, Ila Nuru Sherpa and Palden Namgyal at 8:55 am. 01/11 summit team left C2 at 10:30 pm on 31/10. They left early due to too many people on the route. Very good conditions. Straightforward climb. They spent about 30 minutes on the summit. There were another 10 people. Cold and windy. They descended to BC where they arrived at 7 pm. 02/11 summit team left at 11 pm on 01/11. They decided to leave from C1 as it was more comfortable and not as crowded at C2. Very good conditions. Not a lot of wind on the summit. Spent about 30 minutes on summit. Ila Nuru and Barth descended to BC where they arrived at 6 pm. Diez and Palden Namgyal descended to C1 where they arrived at 5 pm. Left BC on 02/11 Schoeffel and Pasang Tendi by helicopter; 04/11 all other members walking to Lukla. Back in KTM: 05/11. Members who did not summit: Karl and Franziska Arnold and Lale Tamang reached the Yellow Tower (5900m) on 31/10. Karl had a muscle injury and they descended to BC. Schmutz reached C1 with Mingma Sona (Phortse) on 01/11. He had a cold and decided to abandon the expedition. Weber stayed at BC. He never intended to summit, but organized the expedition from BC.
