Route Notes From George Ionescu FB page: Ama Dablam 2022, entirely Romanian winter expedition We reached base camp today, to find out that we are the only team to attempt the summit in the coming weeks; this will be an attempt without the help of a rope fixing team and without Sherpa support. Gina Badescu and I started this expedition on January 2nd; we will attempt to summit Ama Dablam 6812m until the end of January. Today, after our first base camp lunch ( accompanied only by the basecamp manager, the cook and the cook’s helper), we went for an acclimatization hike up to approximately 5000 meters, trying to asses the route condition toward camp 1. Tomorrow we plan for an active recovery day. Report from Arnold Coster: BC 10/01 4600m C1 15/01 5700m C2 16/01 5850m HPt 16/01 5850m Coster, Gieling, Pasang Sherpa, Rinji Sherpa. Team reached C2 on 16/01 and stayed the night. Conditions were Ok, but client decided to give up on the expedition, so they descended to BC on 17/01. Left BC on 18/01 by heli. Sherpas above BC: 2 Fixed rope: Route still fixed from autumn
