Route Notes Report from Graciela Cuenca: BC 30/10 4530m C1 01/11 5700m C3 02/11 6400m Smt 03/11 by Cuenca at 9:30 am. Cuenca left C3 at 6:20 am. It was very windy that night. She was the only person at C3 and because she had a pretty sleepless night due to the wind; she overslept and only started at 6:20 am. Her ascent was straight-forward, but it was very windy. She stayed one hour on the summit and descended to C2 where she arrived at 3:40 pm. On 04/11 back to BC. Left BC on 07/11. Report from Kristin Harila (from Facebook and Instagram): BC 21/10 4600m C1 22/10 5700m C2 27/10 6000m Smt 28/10 by Harila and Chhiring Namgyal at 5:40 am. Summit push: Tuesday we started from Base Camp (4600m) to Camp 1 (5700m), lucky I was feeling much better then on the first rotation up. Then I used 8.5 hours up, now it was easily done in 5 hours. After a really good night in Camp 1, we started to climb to Camp 2 (6000m). A technical climb on rocks, especially the Yellow Tower, where I was struggling. But I felt good, and we arrived Camp 2 after three hours. It was so warm in our tent, but I got a few hours of sleep in the afternoon before the alarm woke us up at 10.30 PM. 11.30 PM we where ready, and started to climb to Camp 3 (6500m). I had my down suit and 8000m boots on, and where so warm! Crampons on all the way from Camp 2! After about three hours, we reached Camp 3, and took a short cola and snacks break in a tent. When we started to climb from Camp 3, I was a little worried that it would be dark at the summit. But just before we reached there, we could enjoy a beautiful sunrise, and at 05.30 AM, we finally reached the summit of Ama Dablam (6814m). After taking some pictures, we started our climb down and decided to go all the way down to Base Camp. It was so warm in the sun, and after 17 hours in total, we finally arrived Base Camp again. So how was it? Technical, yes! But first of all I will remember the climb for just being constantly steep, and the mountain for being SO beautiful.
