Route Notes BC 30/03 4600m C1 03/04 5800m C2 07/04 6000m HPt 08/04 6700m by Jens Gangdal, Jon Gangdal, Bjorn Haagensli and two Sherpas. Climb abandoned on 08/04 due to difficulty, tiredness Oxygen: Haagensli for medical reasons on descent to C2 Team started summit push from C2 at 1:30 am on 08/04. Trones turned around at 7 am at around 6300m because he felt he didn't have the energy required to go all the way to the summit and descend safely. He turned around with his Sherpa Pemba Rita and descended to C2. The others turned around at 6700m at 1 pm because the weather deteriorated, they made slow progress and felt increasingly tired. Haagensli particularly felt bad, he was afraid of developing HACE as he failed doing simple tasks like handling his climbing gear. Conditions were difficult, it was a long day and reaching 6700m took them much longer than expected. Trones with Pemba Rita got back to C2 at 10 am, the others at 7:30 pm. Everyone spent the night at C2. In the morning of 09/04, Haagensli was rescued from C2 by long-line and taken to Kathmandu where he underwent treatment in hospital. He is recovering now, with no lasting damage. The others were helicoptered from BC to Kathmandu on 09/04. Hired: Dawa Tenji Sherpa (Dolakha, Gaurishankar-1) Kili Pemba Sherpa (Dolakha, Gaurishankar-1) Pemba Rita Sherpa (Dolakha, Gaurishankar-1)
