They started from C3 at 2-3 am. Stayed on top for 30 minutes, very nice weather, sunny, no wind, -20° Celsius. Then all down to C1, arrival at about 3:30 pm. Next day to BC. Burchardt had a bad cough, spitting blood. She reached C2. Forthun also bad cough and throat problem, only reached ABC. He flew from Namche to KTM by helicopter early. Hillestadt turned around between C2 and C3 because a fixed rope snapped. Fortunately she was clipped to another safety rope, so she fell only 2-3m maybe. Got a soft landing on snow, she was very lucky, it could have ended worse. After that she didn't trust the ropes anymore and decided to abandon climb. She walked down with Ang Kami down to BC where she waited for the others. Remen only got as high as ABC, he had a bad cough too. Team left BC on 10 Nov. Members at end were flown out by heli from Namche. Oxygen: taken for emergency to all camps, not used. Hired: Pasang Sherpa, Makalu-Barun Pemba Sherba, Namche Dorje Sonam Sherpa, Phortse Ang Kami Sherpa, Pangboche
