Route Notes Five members and four Sherpas left C3 for the summit at 4:45 am on 4 November, and got there at 9:00 am: the members descended to C1 between 5:00 and 7:00 pm in 40 km/hr wind which gave them clear but cold weather. Their Sherpas continued on down to BC the same day. The successful members were Cherry, Dillier Degelo, Hill, Jarzebowski and Staples; the Sherpas were Ang Jangbu, Chewang Dorje, Da Nuru and Sange Dorje. The three members who did not summit were Gillan, Heydon and Keaveney, who reached only as far C1. Heydon and Keaveney developed stomach trouble as they arrived at C1 on 1 November; they went back to BC the next day and stayed there until the climbing was over. Gillan got to C1 on 27 October, went back to BC the following day, received an e-mail message informing him that his father was dying and immediately left for home. Sherpas: Phurba Chhoter (Ang Jangbu) Sherpa, Yilajung Chewang Dorje Sherpa, 17/4/81, Pangboche Da Nuru Sherpa Sange Dorje Sherpa, 14/4/78, Khumjung
