| Route Notes | David Morton - 10 March 2015 It was a very short trip with C2 as the high point for two of us. On November 3rd, as we went to C2 as an acclimation day, Dendi Sherpa was killed. We returned to BC as per planned itinerary that day. Once back at BC, we discussed a reasonable approach may be to return high on the mountain to assess conditions first-hand above C3. It was decided by the members, in part from discussions at BC with others, that the reasonable decision would be to abandon our expedition. Oct 22 - Flew to Lukla Oct 30 - Arrive Ama Dablam BC 4575m (via Renjo La) Nov 02 - BC to C1, overnight Nov 03 - C1 to C2, returned to BC (Darrell Kinder decided in the morning that it was "too much" for him so he returned to BC in the morning with a Sherpa, his high point C1). Same day Wayne Hickey and I reached our high point of C2, 6100m. Nov 05 - brought loads from C1 to BC Nov 07 - departed BC Nov 09 - Flew to KTM Two Sherpas went to C1 with us: Panuru Sherpa from Phortse as the sirdar went to C1 and returned from C1 with Darrell Kinder. Danuru Sherpa from Phortse (Panuru’s younger brother) went to C2 with myself and Wayne Hickey. |
