Route Notes Flade abandoned climb on 21 Oct due to problems with ankle and back after getting to C1. Jaeggi abandoned climb on 21 Oct due to diarrhea and headache at C1. Schardt abandoned climb on 21 Oct due to diarrhea as well as getting nervous after seeing helicopter recover dead body of a Russian climber from an accident [AMS] on the mountain. Schreyer abandoned climb on 21 Oct due to altitude headache at C1. After several members abandoned summit bid, Schatzl decided they didn't need all 3 climbing Sherpas for the summit. So on 22 Oct, Schatzl decided that only Lhakpa Sherpa would continue to summit so, Nima Sherpa and Namgyal Sherpa did not continue. Perfect day on summit. Wind was almost still, but clouds were coming up. Sherpas: Nima Sherpa (about 41 yrs old) Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa (about 25 yrs old; from near Thuling) Namgyal Sherpa (about 23 yrs old; from Pangboche)
