Route Notes At BC, Wuttig got sick and then went down to sleep. Next day came back then on 18 Oct, the situation was the same. On 21 Oct he left BC and went back to KTM and continued to Germany. On 24 Oct, Stoib and Urbancic didn't feel good at C1. They slept and next day returned to BC. Sunshine with intermittent snow showers and fog at summit, but mostly sunny. Spent about 30 minutes on the summit. Accidents: Stiller had frozen fingers from summit bid (they were turning blue). Upon return to BC, he got first-aid and on 27 Oct a helicopter came and took him and Stoib to KTM. Upon arrival in KTM, they went to the hospital for immediate care and both then proceeded to return home. On 26 Oct, Von Freysing died during climb down from summit. Around 6000m he pulled back from the fixed rope, put both arms out, exhaled a deep breath and died. Both Sherpas went to him, but could not revive him. A helicopter retrieved his body via a long rope. The team said he had a history of heart problems, so it is possible that it was a heart attack.
