| Route Notes | Ms. Yamanaka's team consisted of just three climbers: herself and two Tamangs, Tul Bahadur and Chhombe. Before going to BC, they climbed Mera Peak and all three of them summited it on 9 October. They established Ama Dablam BC on 20 October and two days later occupied C1 at 5650m. On the 23rd, they set out for C2, but never got there. Yamanaka was now having difficulty breathing and had to turn back at 5,760m. This was the expedition's high point. Yamanaka was unable to walk properly and the two Tamangs had to bring her down to C1, one supporting her on the each side. They stayed in C1 for two nights. At the lower altitude, Yamanaka's ability to walk unaided returned and they descended to BC on the 25th, left BC for Lukla on the 25th. Hired: Chhombe Tamang, 19/11/68, Deusa, Solu, no 8000ers Tul Bahadur Tamang, 30/8/66, Deusa, Solu, Cho Oyu X2, Dhaulagiri X1, Everest X2, Manaslu X1 |
