Route Notes Team started for the summit from C3 at approximately 6 am. They reached the summit at 3:30 pm and left the summit at approx 4 pm for C3. Then the accident occured at 6600m and the team had to be evacuated. Accident (fall) by Juergen Handl on the way down from summit to C3, at approx 6600m; rescued by helicopter on 3 April to Kathmandu; Alexander Roeck and climbing Sherpa Pasang Kaji Sherpa went down to base camp where they were evacuated by helicopter on 5 April 2014. Alexander Roeck - 26 May 2014 The reason for the accident will remain unclear I guess. The Sherpa and I didn't see it and Handl can't remember. We guess it was just an ordinary accident (stumbling, break of a handle, etc). There was no avalanche or the like and we did not suffer from mountain sickness.
