Route Notes Team's high point was 6100m reached on 27 October by all members and all Sherpas: Bishop, Haskins, Howe, Moore, Tibbits, West and Whitby with Lhakpa Tamang and Rinji Sherpa. 6100m was the planned site for their C2; they descended to C1 to rest before tackling the top. They had planned to go to the summit on the 30th, but already snowfall had brought snow lying even at BC and the route above was covered with mixed snow and ice. Furthermore weather reports forecast much more snow coming. They decided on the 30th to abandon their climb. Two members, Howe and Tibbits, developed mild cases of altitude sickness, but recovered at lower altitudes in time to reach the team's high point.
