Route Notes BC 17 Oct 4600m C1 21 Oct 5750m HP 26 Oct 6050m by Bachmann, Bittel, Bucher, Daeppen, Harreis, Honold, Martinson, Peter, Schneider, Sohneg, Vielhauer, Wasser, Wehrli. Team touched C2 on 26 Oct, however, they did not go farther due to too much snow. After they descended to BC, 13 of the members left the expedition (everyone apart from Wehrli, Harreis, Martinson and Honold) due to the masses of snow. Wehrli, Harreis, Martinson and Honold decided to stay and see whether they would get another chance. They remained in BC until 4 Nov and left then. Karsten Weis and Fred Weis reached BC on 17 Oct. They looked at the mountain and decided that they would go trekking instead. They left BC on 19 Oct. Rudolph reached C1 on 21 Oct; he abandoned climb for personal reasons. Ruess reached C1 on 21 Oct; he abandoned climb for personal reasons. Lehmann reached C1 on 21 Oct; he abandoned expedition for medical reasons as he did not cope well with the altitude. Waag reached C1 on 21 Oct; he abandoned expedition for medical reasons as he did not cope well with the altitude.
