| Route Notes | -5 degrees in the tent at base camp on morning of 25th. Left at 8:35 am, up snow fields to yak camp. Arrived at 11:40 am, icy trail. 12:30-2:15 pm to C1. Normally a boulder field, this was largely filled in with snow. Down to -10 in tent that night. Saturday 26 left C1 at 7:50 am (beautiful views). About 2 hours to C2. Not carrying anything and super fun climbing. From the bottom of the grey tower took photos of the C2 tower. Back down to C1 in about an hour. Tiring with all the warm wraps. Coming down the boulder field difficult because of falling through the snow between the rocks. ABC/yak camp back down to base was a long boring slog in an icy rutt. Arrived 5 pm. Several slips on way down. Bellamy plans to join IMG for Everest south side in spring 2014. Sherpa: Phunuru Sherpa, Phortse, 16/5/1980 |
