| Route Notes | The three-member team made BC on 6 November. Filippi was appalled by the large number of climbers at the same time on the same route as his proposed line. He had planned to climb in what he called alpine style, i.e., no Sherpas and no bottled oxygen, and he felt that with so many people crowding the route, he could not climb as he wished. So he left the team from C1 on 11 November. The two other members stayed on the mountain and on 11 November they climbed up to the site for their C2 at 6000m, but then went back to C1. They knew that this morning would be their highest point: Bilodeau had had a bad head cold with coughing for several days, which, turning into mild bronchitis, had drained his strength, and Trembly was not a strong climber. They descended to BC on the 12th and left on the 13th. |
