| Route Notes | After their first try on the 22nd of October, the trio was back to the base camp and had to decide something. The technicality of the route caused them more troubles than the altitude: the trio felt lack of equipment on the way to C1, they had to struggle with a 45-degree smooth rock section half-equipped (would be later fully equipped by the Sherpas), felt tired by their attempt and not much motivated anymore with the view to walk again all the way between BC and C1 (7th walk), the trio had to consider as well, as they had only 2 days remaining before coming back on Kathmandu. For these reasons and having to deal with their only weather forecast intuition (no weather forecast information available for them), the trio didn't attempt to climb the mountain anymore, even if these last 2 days eventually offered good weather condtions. Louis-David Boudrias stopped 30m under the yellow tower. Sherpa: Namgyal Lama Sherpa, Khiraunle, Bung-9, Solukhumbu, 25/9/71 (2028/6/09), Everest X4, Kangchenjunga X1 |
