| Route Notes | The two Swiss members and Nima Sherpa (Taksindu) climbed Lobuche East on 23 April to acclimatize, then Ama Dablam BC was established the next day. The summit party consisted of the two Swiss members, Corpataux and Fasel, with the two Sherpas, Nima (Ghat) and Nima (Taksindu). They left C2 for the top at 3:30 am on 3 May and reached the summit at 10:00am. They were back in C2 to sleep at 4:00 pm. The whole team was togethter in BC on the 4th. Cox reached C1 twice: to acclimatize with the rest of the team, and 1 May when the others were on their way to establish C2 the following day. But he never went higher. He returned to BC the same day because there was not sufficient time for him to touch C2 and get back to BC the same day. He now had no expectation of going to the summit. Sherpas: Nima Sherpa, 11/1/77, Ghat, Solukhumbu, no 8000ers Nima Sherpa, 22/8/74, Taksindu, no 8000ers |
