Route Notes First, the whole team climbed Mera Peak on 2 May. From there, they tried to cross the Mingbo La in warm and foggy weather. They got to the top of the pass, but then found the descent on the other side impossible for the porters; they crossed the Amphu Laptsa instead, and here Nemec left the others with a Sherpa to climb Baruntse first while the other members went directly to Ama Dablam BC. The four members arrived at Ama Dablam BC on 8 May. There they learned that the route had not been fixed above C2. They had no Sherpas with them and they made no attempt to fix ropes or even to climb high with little time left at their disposal. On 9 May, all four reached 5300m (not even C1) as they were really just sightseeing, and returned to BC and to Deboche village the same day enroute to Lukla. Ama Dablam BC 12 May at 4600m High point 14 May at 5800m Climb abandoned at 14 May due to bad weather and he was alone. Nemec had a look at the mountain on his own. He reached 5800m in 3-1/2 hours from BC. Weather turned bad and he turned back to BC. He did not want to climb on his own and left. This was second time any of the expedition went to Ama Dablam. The other four were there 8-9 May.
