Route Notes Amon made a speed climb from BC to top to BC. He left BC alone at 2:18 am on 5 November, reached the summit at 9:23 am and returned to BC at 2:48 pm; took seven hours and five minutes to the top and made the round trip in 12-1/2 hours. The weather was excellent. Just a bit of fog in the morning, no wind, temperatures hovering between 10 and 15 minus C degrees. Clear skies that provided a great view from the summit. Watzek summited two days later. He stopped in C1 on the 6th and go to the top at 11:20 am on 7 November. He descended to C2 at 5:00 pm and returned to BC on the 8th. Groebner went to about 6200m (below the Grey Tower) on the 6th. He had had a bad night because of stomach problems at C1 and felt very depleted of energy. He had left C1 at 8:00 am on the 7th, but when he got to 6200m at about 11:00 am, he turned around and was in BC at 1:30 pm. In C2, Watzek discovered he had frostbite on both big toes. Because of his frostbite, the team called for a helicopter, and the next day flew to Kathmandu.
