Route Notes On November 18 Griffith and Pemba left C3 at 6:30 am for the top. Griffith had to turn around 30m below the summit. It was 9:30 am, he got numb left foot and lost vision in his left eye. As he wrote in his email, visibility was very poor and very high wind. Griffith and Pemba reached C3 at 10:30 am and continued to C2 wehre they arrived at 2:30 pm. Griffith spent 18 days in October trekking around Annapurna route. Email from Raymond Griffith - Feb 9, 2011 Although I turned around only 30m from the summit, I consider it a successful climb. All of the most difficult parts of the climb were behind me and I turned around while it was still safe for me to make the descent.
