Route Notes C2.7 just below the ledge. The expedition placed their third high camp below what used to be the normal site for C3 on a ledge at about 6400m and is commonly called as Camp 2.7. Ballinger thinks the site for camp is 2.7 is a good place to camp: it is protected from the wind and gets good sunlight. He doesn't consider the illnesses of Kjellberg and Warren as serious, but as "debilitating." Non-summiting members: Ewen climbed to the Yellow Tower at about 6000m on 29 October and then he was not skilled enough to continue. He left on 2 November. Friedrich also left on 2 November after reaching 6000m on 29 October. He was frightened and unhappy. Kjellberg became sick in BC perhaps due to a virus and never got well. He went up to C1 on 28 October and stayed in BC until the climb was over. Warren he also became sick, probably from a viral infection, and got no higher than 6000m on 4 November. Fixed rope: 500m between C2 and C3 Sherpas: Dorje Sonam Gyalzen, 24/5/81, Phortse, Everest X13, Cho Oyu and Manaslu X1 each Phura Namgya, 13/8/87 (28/4/2044), Khumjung, no 8000ers Rita Dorje, 24/1/77, Phortse, Everest X7 Tashi Tshering, 8/5/90, Khumjung, Everest X2
