Route Notes Fixed rope - 600m between C3 to summit. On 22 April Suponnikov went up to C3 and back to C2 same day. Ivanova went down to C1 on 23 April. On 23 April Suponnikov, Bezruchko of Russian team and his Sherpa put fixed ropes about 100m above the C3. Bezruchko had a little frostbite on his fingertip and went down. Suponnikov's summit push started from C3 on 27th April at 8 am. He reached the top at 4 pm; stayed on summit for about 20 minutes, then descended to C3 at 7 pm. The summit day weather was cloudy around the top, not very windy and temperature was comfortable. Ivanova was at C3. Next day 28 April Suponnikov and Ivanova started from C3 for the summit. When they reached about 6350m, Ivanova had difficulty in breathing and decided to descend. They arrived at C2 and telephoned to their insurance company for evacuation by helicopter. On 29 April Ivanova and Suponnikov went down to BC. Next day 30 April they arrived in Kathmandu by helicopter. Ivanova was admitted to Norvic Hospital. When I met Suponnikov on 1 May he told me that Ivanova is Ok and may be discharged from hospital on 2 May. Both of them will be leaving Nepal on 3 May.
