Route Notes Pinnacle Sports Australia Ama Dablam Expedition, led by Jay Reilly - 12 Nov 2008 The seven-member expedition produced only one summiting member. The non-summiters and their problems were: Asquith reached C1, got bored and left on 1 November. Emselle reached C2, had stomach problem and didn't like the cold so went no higher. Jarrett went to C1, became ill and left on 1 November. Reid reached about 6300m on 4 November, turned back to C2 because he was cold and too tired to continue up. Warren was Jarrett's boy friend, and when she needed to leave on 1 November, he left with her. He had gotten to C1. Reilly got no higher than C2; as leader, he had to look after his ailing members. That left for the summit only Hewson with the team's two climbing Sherpas, Lhakpa and Phuri. They left C2 at 1:20 am on November 4 and arrived at the summit at 10:45 am, stayed there for only 15 minutes in the cold (-40 degrees) and the wind, returned to C2 at 4:40 pm and were back in BC the next day. Sherpas: Lhakpa Sherpa, aka Kongle, 24/1/64, Patle, Everest X1 Phuri Sherpa, 21/2/1987 (9/11/2043), Patle, no 8000ers
