Route Notes Summit team and Gawlas and Kami Chhiring Sherpa left C2 at 4 am on 1 Nov. Weather was good but snow a bit soft. On mushroom ridge snow beneath was a bit unstable. At about 6200m Gawlas felt uneasy, partly due to fatal accidents by Frenchman and turned back with Kami Chhiring Sherpa to C2. Team summited at 12 noon. They stayed on summit for half an hour. On way down, just below the Dablam, pieces of ice broke off and Reckord was hit by a chunk of the size of a microwave. As he was clipped into fixed rope. He did not take a fall. He was hit in the ribs and thought they were broken but X-ray showed not broken.
