Route Notes Jean Mary fell at 11:45 am on 31 Oct when he fell from 6050m on SW Ridge 500m down SE Face of SW Ridge. As he started to fall, Vial heard him say, "Ah Non". His body was badly smashed and his face unrecognizable. Petraud speculates that since Mary was always in a hurry, he had failed to properly clip into the fixed rope. Body brought to Kathmandu from BC on 3 Nov.
