Route Notes High point at 6400m. On 10 Oct Giovannini and Gasperetti went to C2 to fix rope. They fixed parts between C1 and C2 and fixed between C2 and 6400m. On 12 Oct they descended to C1, where Calliari and Giongo had been since 11 Oct. On 13 Oct high point team left C1 at 7 am. Weather good, but too hot. They reached 6400m at 11 am and decided to abandon expedition due to soft snow. It was impossible to put in any snow stakes and they turned back. They dismantled C2 and C1 and returned to BC. Arrived at 4 pm. Pontalti reached C1 on 5 Oct. He did not feel well and returned to BC same day. He stayed there for remainder of expedition.
