| Route Notes | One comment: C2 has enough space for 8-10 tents. Fixed rope is very old. The weather was not favorable: snowing every day and melting which made climbing very small. Russians did not have time for second summit attempt, so left expedition as woman members wanted to go home. This left the Georgians members to climb alone to summit. The weather conditions were very bad, strong wind; started on 23 May from C3 at 07:00 am. Bidzina reached summit at 11:00 and waited for his son Irakli who summited at 12:00; they came back to C3 at 14:30. Levan Mushkudiani reached 6400m in summit bid and returned to BC due to health conditions. Earlier summit bid by all 3 Georgians, but turned back 14-15 May, weather bad and down to BC Pangboche. |
