Route Notes On 20 Oct Palmer left C2 at 9:30 am. Weather was very cold, but clear. The climb was straightforward and enjoyable. When he reached mushroom ridge at about 7 am he met Tim Rippel who told him about the avalanche that came down on 19 Oct. Palmer decided to abandon his climb as he was not feeling strong enough to go up by himself. He descended ta ABC, arrived at noon. O'Neill reached BC on 12 Oct. He stayed at BC for the whole expedition as he did not feel strong enough, mentally and physically to climb the mountain.
