Route Notes Pitched at C3 at 6300m on 17 Oct by Sherpas but after pieces of icefall on night of 18th from Dablam, this team decided to skip C3 (no space for their tent at ridge below C3). International Ama Dablam Expedition 2007 led by Doug Sandok & Dan Mazur - 31 October 2007 First summit party of 15 members and three Sherpas left C2 between 2:00 and 3:30 am on 20 October and all reached the summit between 9:30 amd and 2:10 pm. They were Adamson, Dixon, Foxcroft, Heiberg, Hovland, Johansen, Liu, Merciny, Nolan, Rygnestad, Talbott, Van Gool, Veris, Wegge, Wigderson, Dawa Jangbu, Jangbu and Ang Shera. Liu was very slow, and he and Jangbu were the last on top and back in C2. All returned to C2 between 2:00 and 8:00 pm. Second summit party left C2 at 3:00 am on 22 October. Sandok got to 6300m, then down to C1 with stomach problems. Taylor reached 6500m, then down to BC with signs of cerebral edema. Summiters were Goodson, Jacobsen, Mazur, Munnichs, Tenji Sherpa and Lhakpa Gelu. They were on the top at 12:00 to 12:30 pm and back in C2 at 5:45 pm. Third summit party left C2 at 3:00 am on 24 October. Dudman got tired and turned back to C2 at 6500m. Ellis got to 6600m but was too slow, reached this point at 2:00 pm, which was "turn-around" time, and he and his Sherpa Lhakpa Tendu turned around and went back to C2 at 8:00 pm. Lawfield climbed to 6700m, also was too slow (because of respiratory problems) and he and Ang Shera got back to C2 at 10:00 pm. The summit was reached at 12:00 to 2:00 pm by Belman, Rolfson, Safieh, Gyalzen Sherpa, Pasang Gelu, Lhakpa (Kongle) and Lhakpa Tendu. Those who got to the summit returned to C2 around 5:00 pm. Other non-summiting members: Boersma reached C1, became too tired to continue, left about 13 September. Beck developed altitude sickness at Thyangboche, on about 5 September and never reached BC. Confer climbed to 6000m on 18 October, then turned back: "there were too many people on the mountain for me," he said. Hickman reached C1 on 22 October, got altitude sickness and went down to BC. McDonald developed stomach problems and left 20 October. Prat reached C1, went down to ABC and fell there, bruising his ribs; left 15 October. Tranter got to C1, was not doing well, lost motivation; he had summited Ama Dablam before, in 2004, and it was more important for him that his girlfriend Joanne Goodson got to the summit. Accidents, etc: Lawfield had respiratory problems which cost him the summit. Prat fell at ABC in mid-October and bruised his ribs. Nolan and Wigderson: their toes were frostbitten and became black, but no loss expected. Nolan's boots were inadequate, but reason for Widgerson's frostbite not clear, but both were rather slow. Taylor showed symptoms of developing cerebral edema in his summit bid on 22 October and recovered by immediately descending to BC. Sherpas: Ang Shera, 22/4/76 (10/1/2033), Patle, no 8000ers Dawa Jangbu, 4/6/79 (21/2/2036), Patle, no 8000ers Gyalzen Sherpa, 25/1/74 (12/10/2030), Patle, no 8000ers Jangbu Sherpa, 24/5/67, Patle, Everest X2, Cho Oyu 2/10/07 with Arnold Coster Lhakpa (Kongle) Sherpa, 24/1/64, Patle, Everest X2 Lhakpa Tendu (Lhakpa Kormu), 28/3/77 (15/12/2033), Patle, no 8000ers Pasang Gelu, 28/11/83, Dhimbul, Gudel, Solu, Everest X4, Dhaulagiri X1 Tenji Sherpa, 1/6/82 (18/2/2039), Patle, Everest X3
