Route Notes First went to acclimatize on trek to Everest BC, Kalapattar and climbed Lobuche East. IMG Ama Dablam Expedition led by Justin Merle - 5 Nov 2007 First summiters were Logic and the team's two Sherpas, Ang Pasang and Kami Tshering. They went to Cho Oyu in early autumn, returned to Kathmandu, flew to Lukla together and established BC on 12 October. Already well acclimatized, Logic and the Sherpas did not need to participate in the acclimatization program of the rest of the members. They occupied C1 on the 14th and C2 on the 16th. They made a summit bid from C2 on the 17th, but when they reached 6500m, it was too late to continue their ascent; they had moved up slowly because they were fixing ropes for the rest of the expedition. Bad weather was now setting in, so they descended all the way to BC. On the 20th the three men climbed from BC to C2, summited on the 21st and went down to BC the same day. Logic went from BC to Lukla on the 22nd while the Sherpas stayed for the arrival of the other member on the 29th. Main summit party did not need a C3 since they had trekked to Everest BC and up Kalapattar, then summited Lobuche East before arriving at Ama Dablam BC. They were Cragin, Kurdt, Merle, Van den Bos and Kami Tshering. They left C2 at 3:55 am and were on the top at 10:40 am (Cragin, Merle and Kami Tshering) and at 11:40 am. (Kurdt and Van den Bos). The first summiters waited at the top for an hour in perfect weather: "crystal clear and light breeze," said Merle; all went down to C2 together. This was Kami Tshering's second ascent in eight days. Non-summiting member: Peck reached C2 with summit party but had bad cough and instead of going for summit descended to BC. Pasang Nuru descended with him. Sherpas: Kami Tshering, 1962, Pangboche, Everest X8, Cho Oyu X5 Ang Pasang, 11/2/66, Pangboche, Everest X3, Cho Oyu X5
