Route Notes Field Touring Ama Dablam Expedition 2007 - 14 Nov 2007 First summit party: Chow, Kane, McElroy, Remensnyder, Rowlands and Parsu Ram Rai left C3 from 9:00 to 9:30 am on 4 November and all reached the top between 12:08 and 1:17 pm. McElroy was the first to the summit and stayed for two hours; he and Chow, who summited at 12:30, descended to C2, where they arrived at 3:00 pm. The other members returned to C3 at 4:00 pm. Parsu Ram Rai climbed from C2 to top to C3. Second summit party: Allen, Loughlin, Reibeling, Turner and Lhakpa Sherpa left C3 on 5 November between 9:40 and 10:20 am, got to the summit between 12:20 and 12:45 pm, and all descended to C2, arriving there at 3:30 pm. Because of the unstable conditions on the Gray Tower, climbers moved up the ropes from C2 to 6100m just one person at a time. Three members left the team early: Bampton, who had a history of knee problems, got a sore knee at ABC. He stayed there the nights of 24 and 25 October, then descended to BC on the 26th. He left expedition on 1 November. Norman developed very bad chest infection (perhaps pneumonia) at ABC on 27 October and left BC on 3 November on horseback. Rollins got a sinus infection while in C1 on 27 October. He went down to ABC and then to BC but did not recover, so also left on the 3rd of November. There were no accidents or case of frostbite. Nepalese summiters: Parsu Ram Rai, 13/7/9/69 (29/3/2026, Rakha, Khotang, no 8000ers Lhakpa Sherpa, 25/7/1968 (10/4/2025), Lokhim vdc, Solu, no 8000ers He had already summited Ama Dablam with a Japanese team in October 2007
