Route Notes BC at Todd's BC site. Olson on Ama Dablam - 19 Nov 2007 First Olson trekked around Khumbu with other people, then to Ama Dablam. He was on Henry Todd's permit, and he expected food supplies and a tent to be available for him on the mountain, but when he arrived at BC on 7 November, he found that he would be sharing tents with other climbers on Todd's permit. The Serbian leader, Dragan Jacimovic, helped with tent space for him. As for food, Tim Mosedale, leader of one of these teams, supplied him with food from his own pocket. Olson went to C1 on 8 November and slept in a Todd tent, but there was no food there and he went down to BC on the 9th. On the 11th he returned to C1, and moved up to a Todd tent at C2 on the 12th. On the 13th he went up from C2 but turned around halfway to C3 (about 6100m). "I had reached the point where I was very happy with the journey on the mountain, and now was the right time to go home." So he went down to BC, spent the 14th relaxing, chatting by walkie-talkie with Jacimovic's team, who were above him on the mountain, and left BC on the 15th.
