Route Notes C2 lower than normal site because normal site strewn with ice blocks and remnants of gear, "didn't feel right" to camp where fatal avalanche had hit and this lower site better protected but rather restricted space (only 2 tents with 3 people each in a squeeze). Summit party of 2nd: left C2 at 8:30 am; Hicks turned back at 6282m (just below old C3) and down to C1; Briggs turned around at 6400m: ran of energy and down to C3. All others in party to top at 1:45 pm (Weight and Tashi) and at 2:15 (Goddard) and C3 at 5:45 and 6:10 pm respectively. 4th Dec summit party of Wheeldon and Pema Tshering left C3 at 6:30 am, arrive top at 10:50 am and in C2 at 6:00 pm (Wheeldon fell 15 m where anchor came out at about 6000m but only bruised). Weight had also fallen 4m into bergschrung at 6350m when put foot into what was actually empty space (also not hurt) on his descent from top but was attached to fixed rope. This team last on mountain and it was "beautiful."
