Route Notes Truffer, Wongchu and Lhakpa climbed to C2 on 27 April to deposit gear and tents. The conditions were difficult, too much snow. They descended to C1, where they arrived at 5 pm where they stayed one night on 26 April. The team decided to abandon climb as they wanted to go to Cho Oyu. The conditions were so difficult that Sherpas took 6 days to fix rope from C1 to C3. They shared the work with Olaf Rieck's team, which was also on mountain rope fixing. Team left BC on 2 May by helicopter to Kathmandu. They stayed for 2 nights in Kathmandu before they left for Cho Oyu.
