Route Notes Rieck and Lhakpa Gelu left C3 at 7:30 am; Ruelker left with 2 other Germans from a different expedition (Tiller & Otto) at 9:20 am. Rieck and Lhakpa Gelu waited for Ruelker on summit for one hour and descended at 3:30 pm, after having spent 30 minutes with Ruelker on top. Weather was cloudy but Rieck and Lakpa Gelu still got some views of Everest. The summit team descended to C3 and arrived there at 4 pm (Rieck and Lhakpa) and at 6 pm (Ruelker). Conditions on the mountain were difficult due to too much snow. Rieck and Lakpa fixed the rope from C2 to C3 with Ongcho Sherpa of a Swiss Expedition (Anzan Truffler). On summit day Rieck and Lhakpa fixed rope from C3 to summit. Anzan Truffler's expedition, which decided to turn back, left rope-fixing material for Rieck's team as Rieck's material would not have been enough. Krueger arrived at C1 on 2 May. She stayed there (alone) for two nights to wait for summit team to come down. She descended to BC on 4 May and abandoned the climb due to too much difficulty. Brummer ascended to C1 on 25 April and descended to BC on 27 April. He abandoned climb due to too much difficulty and left BC on 28 April. Sherpa: Lhakpa Gelu, 13/4/73, Thumduk, Beni-3, Everest 18/5/04
