| Route Notes | Sean and Jangbu left C3 at 5 am. Weather was clear, no wind conditions good. Sean was wearing (Asolo) plastic boots but tied them too tight, which he thinks led to his frostbite. His toes felt cold but he did not worry about it. When he got back to C3 at noon he noticed his frostbitten feet. He thawed them at C3 with lukewarm water. The next day (24 Oct) he descended to BC (he descended to C2 in his plastic boots and to BC only in his inner boots). He was helicoptered out the following day. Doctors said he should not walk for 6 weeks. Brian got as far C3 on 22 Oct but did not attempt to summit due to fatigue. He walked out of BC on 26 Oct. |
