Route Notes All four members had difficulty sleeping at BC. All members went to ABC on 5 Oct but again sleeping problem and all down to BC 6 Oct. On 9 Oct Bailey, Buckley and Lavers left expedition. Johnstone and Rippel went to C1 on 10 Oct and next day both went to high point of 5900m (just below C2 site), where Johnstone decided he could not go on. 12 Oct to BC and climb finished. Members, who lived at low altitudes and had never gone much higher, were out of their element.
