Route Notes BC at Pangboche village C1 at normal site. 10 Oct all down to BC and used Todd's tent there. Merle had heard Rackl's fall (Hamill saw him fall). Hamill and Madison not interested in climbing Ama Dablam now (not comfortable on the idea). Hamill left BC on 11 Oct and Madison the next day while Merle left to go trekking "and clear my friend" on 13th; returned to BC on 17 Oct, up to C2 19th and on to top next day alone (Sherpas had gone to Pangboche by now). Merle was 1st on top (at 9:50 am) and down to C1 to sleep. BC on 21st.
