Route Notes BC above Mingbo (site of all SW Ridge teams) C1 at lake - on moraine directly below center of S Face C2 at 6300m on SW Ridge at C3 site for most expeditions. First attempted to climb S Face and fixed 700m from 5600m altitude to 6000m, but there was dangerous rock fall on face and some of it fell very near members; no one was hit but decided to abandon face and go to SW Ridge. So back to C1 and from there joined SW Ridge at about 5900m and in one day climbed from C1 to C2 at 6300m, next day to top by all members except Zabalata who was too tired and did not go for top. Their face route was on the far left side of face.
