| Route Notes | BC at 4600m normal site ABC at 5400m at bottom of boulder field C1 at 5800m on SW Ridge C2 at 6100m on SW Ridge High point at C2. Between 19 and 29 April fixed ropes and had some snowfall. On 19th electrical storm and on 20th down to BC in hurry (wire in Staples camp buzzed with storm's electricity). 21st back up and fixing ropes above C1. Summit push by MacQueen and Staples and down on 30th. 4 days of continous snow which meant dangerous climbing conditions on snow covered rock. Now no time left for another attempt. On 31st down to BC. Hunt left the expedition 18 April. Went with team on a day's walk on 16 April from BC, didn't like the look of the mountain, left on 16th without having done any climbing. |
