| Route Notes | BC at normal site C1 at bottom of mountain. "I like Ama Dablam - it's beautiful mountain and not dangerous." Will bring group of clients next year. This climb was for a German film team doing film about Khumbu, its people and mountains, etc. After 2 nights in C1, down to BC to rest and see about weather. All 3 members left BC 24 April, one night in C1, 25th 3:00 am up from C1 to top at 12:00 noon and down to BC 7:00 pm - "a long day." Weather at that time was very cold but clear sky and got very good pictures of this sky with clouds moving in modest wind. Seeber turned back at 6500m because afraid of his toes would get frostbitten. In BC -26 degrees C at midnight. Brought down 30 kilos of old fixed rope. |
