Route Notes Summit party left C1 for top 3:00 am and on top 11:00 am and back to C1 at 4:00-4:30 pm rather tired. Not difficult climb to top because all other way was fixed by other teams, but some ropes old, some new, some good, some bad. 5 members went directly from Ama Dablam to Pumori while Bischof and Steurer went to KTM. Lhakpa Gyalzen - 22 Sept 2002 Steurer told him that Steurer and his "girl friend" had attempted Ama Dablam and Steurer got to summit alone - this was probably on 6 Nov. Taken from Website seen on 11th Nov 2004 Bischof and Steurer left high camp at 4 am on 13 Nov. They reached 6000m at 8 am. At this point Bishof decided to turn back due to exhaustion. Steurer climbed the remaining 800m on his own and reached the summit at around noon. He arrived back at high camp just before it got dark. The Sherpa climbed above BC, but turned around before they reached high camp due to bad weather. He did not have adequate clothing. Steurer and Bischof were fed up with the cold at BC and as they were also bored, they decided to climb the mountain on 12 Nov.
